Cargill collaborates with farmers, food makers and industrial customers to bring new ideas to the table.

Biosecurity

Cargill is committed to managing risk associated with aquaculture, improving food safety and safeguarding quality control. Among the systems we have in place:

  • Cargill food safety policy. Food and feed safety is a high priority at Cargill.  Our corporate food safety policy is among the most stringent in the business.  We apply the same standards and policies across the board to ensure that the feed you buy is safe and nutritious, no matter where it is produced.
  • HACCP certification. HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points) is a food manufacturing system developed for use by NASA to ensure food safety for astronauts while in space. All Cargill animal feed plants are HACCP certified, as part of our corporate responsibility for safe feed and safe food throughout the supply chain.
  • Ingredient restrictions. Our aquaculture products contain, no medications or drug products, and no hormones.  We are always willing to discuss additional restrictions based on customer and consumer needs.
  • Ingredient traceability. Our responsibility to our customers includes traceability of ingredients. Cargill traces and follows materials, ingredients and products throughout the supply chain.
  • Transportation standards. Cargill uses certified carriers and a dedicated trucking fleet to maintain safety and quality standards.
