Turning insights into innovative new products

Our history of success in ingredients gives us a unique window into the consumer trends that are driving change in the beverage category. We use these in-depth insights to help our customers both enhance their current products and develop innovative new offerings that generate incremental sales for their brands. What trends are currently impacting the beverage category? Read on.

Functional and fantastic

Many of today’s cutting-edge beverages deliver on both taste and functionality. Why? Because consumers want beverages that fit their lifestyle whether it is an aging boomer managing cholesterol or a young mom seeking energy.  Cargill offers ingredient solutions to some of today’s most pressing health concerns including CoroWise™ cholesterol reducers for heart health.

Reduced-calorie satisfaction

Driven by obesity concerns and an overall desire for better health, there is a growing emphasis on calorie reduction in beverages – especially in schools. At Cargill, we have a family of zero-calorie sweeteners including Zerose™ erythritol, a bulk sweetener.  We also have a broad range of texturizers and other “taste modifiers” that our developers use to “rebuild” the flavor and mouthfeel that are removed along with the calories.

Some Cargill products are only approved for use in certain geographies, end uses, and/or at certain usage levels. It is the customer's responsibility to determine, for a particular geography, that (i) the Cargill product, its use and usage levels, (ii) the customer's product and its use, and (iii) any claims made about the customer's product, all comply with applicable laws and regulations.
