Taking the environment seriously
Nature is one of our suppliers — and we respect it.
Believing that teamwork is the best way to work toward a cleaner environment, we follow a practice of transparency with local authorities, environmental associations and our communities.
- Waste water from our industrial units is treated in highly efficient water-treatment plants, while solid by-products (such as depectinized apple pomace, citrus peels and seaweed filter cakes) are recycled into useful domestic animal feeds or fertilizing products.
- We take potential environmental risk into consideration at the very beginning of any new industrial development.
- We regularly devote a significant part of our capital expenditure to the protection of the environment.
Some Cargill products are only approved for use in certain geographies, end uses, and/or at certain usage levels. It is the customer's responsibility to determine, for a particular geography, that (i) the Cargill product, its use and usage levels, (ii) the customer's product and its use, and (iii) any claims made about the customer's product, all comply with applicable laws and regulations.
