CoroWise™ plant sterols
Cargill CoroWise™ Naturally Sourced Cholesterol Reducer™
Cargill’s ‘easier-to-use’ sterol solution
CoroWise™ plant sterols are derived from natural ingredients and that have been clinically proven to lower ‘bad’ (LDL) cholesterol without negative impact on ‘good’ (HDL) cholesterol.
They are available in a range of product forms, including the innovative ES101 free plant sterol powder. This form is easier to use and process than steryl esters, contributes half of the calories and does not affect taste. Most importantly, it includes a higher concentration of heart healthy, cholesterol-reducing plant sterols than any other steryl esters instant version.
Cargill’s CoroWise™ plant sterols can be incorporated into low fat and fat-free milk-based drinks without affecting the flavor or texture of the product. The emulsification properties of CoroWise™ plant sterols impart a creamy texture to fat-free milk drinks, making them taste as temptingly rich as their semi-skimmed counterparts. Milk-based fruit drinks and soya and yoghurt drinks also taste exceptionally fresh, clean-tasting and smooth in texture when made with CoroWise™ plant sterols.
Cargill’s CoroWise™ plant sterols allow manufacturers to produce healthy, convenient foods with the added benefit of proven cholesterol lowering effects.
CoroWise™ plant sterols ensure sufficient uptake of beneficial plant sterols
Plant sterols are natural compounds that can be consumed regularly as part of a healthy diet. Foods such as fruits, vegetables, breads and other whole grain products, and most vegetable oils contain at least some plant sterols. However, it is difficult to consume enough of these foods on a daily basis to derive enough plant sterols to have a cholesterol-lowering effect. Consuming foods with added plant sterols is one way to ensure that an effective daily intake is attained.
