For Hansen’s latest project, updating their Blue Sky® Free soda line, Cargill was tasked with assisting in developing two new flavors sweetened with Truvia® brand sweetener: Mandarin Orange and Lemonade Soda. Hansen’s recently debuted these new flavors at the Natural Products West show and subsequently rolled them out to stores this past March. The wide application use of Truvia® rebiana in Hansen’s product line speaks to both Hansen’s beverage creativity and the exceptional functionality of Truvia® rebiana.
The trends are clear; consumers are looking for healthy and natural products. Almost half of shoppers aged 18-29 reported that “natural” is very to extremely important on a food label.(1) It has been estimated that natural foods and beverage sales are expected to grow by an average of 6% over each of the next five years.(2) Hansen’s beverages sweetened with Truvia® brand sweetener will undoubtedly contribute to this exciting growth trend.
Truvia® rebiana works in almost all beverage applications: enhanced waters, juice beverages, iced teas, and flavored dairy beverage. In beverages, rebiana is one of the more stable sweeteners due to its high temperature and acid stability. Truvia® rebiana also blends well with other sweeteners like sucrose and erythritol to enhance the taste, mouthfeel, sweetness, and economics of beverage applications.
There are currently more than 12 Hansen’s beverage and food products featuring Truvia® rebiana.
