Cargill to Open Remodeled Feed Mill in Duncan, Neb.

DUNCAN, Neb. – Cargill Animal Nutrition’s Great Plains business will officially open its newly remodeled Duncan, Neb. facility at an open house at the mill on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. The Duncan mill will be a full feed manufacturing facility, although its main focus will be on Cargill’s Right Now® Mineral line and pelleted beef feed.

Cargill purchased the mill in 1991 from Farr Better Feeds. The recent expansion will add new capacity to service the beef market in the Great Plains region. Improvements include highly specialized mineral production capabilities, new packing lines and bins, and a new pelleting line. The $6.5-million expansion also includes an additional 12,000 square feet in warehouse capacity and new load-out bins.

"We are thrilled to have made this significant investment in Duncan, Neb. - which is uniquely positioned to provide world-class products and services to livestock producers in the Great Plains region,” said Brian Parham, general manager of Cargill’s Great Plains animal feed business. “The Duncan facility is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of livestock producers - and the facility has many unique capabilities that will allow us to provide more advanced solutions to our customers."

The Duncan plant will employ a staff of 19 production, sales and administrative personnel, with the intent to expand the production staff in the next year. The open house will feature tours of the mill and is open to the public. For more information on the Duncan feed mill or the open house, please call Jaimee Mollohan at 970-522-6136.
