Cargill Breaks Ground on Innovation Center Expansion

ELK RIVER, Minn. – Cargill Animal Nutrition officially broke ground on the expansion of its innovation center in Elk River, Minn. at a ceremony on Friday, Nov. 3 at 9:00 a. m. The $2.4 million expansion is expected to be complete by June 2007.

The Cargill Animal Nutrition Innovation Center has been the main technology center for Cargill’s global animal nutrition business for 50 years, with a strong emphasis on the development and deployment of products, systems and tools. The new expansion will feature three main areas: an open reception and welcome area; a conferencing and expertise wing; and a technology application wing. The new expansion will facilitate demonstration, training and innovation of Cargill’s nutritional technology for customers, employees, and other visitors. It will also support Cargill’s focus on consumer-oriented product areas such as pet and equine.

“This expansion demonstrates our vision of nourishing people through the commitment to continually develop and deploy world class animal nutrition innovations throughout the world,” stated Todd Hall, President of Cargill Animal Nutrition, “This new training and development facility will enable us to connect our technology to our customers needs at a pace not equaled in our industry.”

A grand opening will be held in the summer of 2007 when the construction is complete. The Cargill Animal Nutrition Innovation Center staffs more than 70 laboratory, support, and administrative personnel.
