Cargill introduces ProPricing® Select contract
Informational web-cast Sept. 12 will explain contract benefits in greater detail
MINNEAPOLIS – Building on the success of its original ProPricing® contract, Cargill is introducing an enhanced offering of this contract at the request of customers. ProPricing® Select gives producers all of the benefits of Cargill’s ProPricing contracts, plus the added flexibility to price out of one’s contract in advance of the contract’s final pricing date. Available to corn, soybean and wheat producers, the ProPricing Select contract will give participating producers expanded access to the input of grain marketing professionals, including market outlook web-casts during the pre-planting and post-pollination periods, free market quotes provided via cell phone and, beginning in Spring 2008, bi-monthly online ProPricing updates to keep producers abreast of important contract information.
Cargill is hosting a video webcast to discuss the benefits of the ProPricing Select contract in greater detail at 6 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, Sept. 12. Producers interested in participating can register at http://www.cargillpropricing.com.
As a program sign-up incentive, Cargill is offering producers the opportunity to participate in its ProPricing Select “Rev Up” drawing to win a flex/fuel-equipped, 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab. Participants will also be in the running for one of four Sterling Silver Beef packages, which feature premium-quality cuts of beef. The contest runs through Oct. 31, 2007.
Cargill first introduced ProPricing forward grain marketing contracts in 2001, allowing producers to contract up to 50 percent of their expected production into any of several contracts. The offerings, which include ProPricing A+, ProPricing MarketPros, and ProPricing DiversiPro, are priced based on marketing advice given to Cargill by grain marketing professionals.
“Since its inception, our ProPricing program has given grain producers a valuable tool in helping them better market their production,” said Dan Dye, president of Cargill AgHorizons. “But some customers have expressed a desire to have more flexibility and control over when they can make a final price determination on their contracted grain. ProPricing Select directly addresses that need.”
