Nutrena® partners with the University of Minnesota to design Leatherdale Equine center
Sponsorship includes Grand Opening of Leatherdale Equine Center
MINNEAPOLIS--- Nutrena® and the University of Minnesota have partnered together to design the Leatherdale Equine Center with a community space attached to it that will serve as the Nutrena Conference Center. The equine community will be able to use this space for meetings, seminars and educational programs. The Center will also include the Nutrena Advanced Nutrition Center.
The state-of-the art, $14-million, 60,000-square foot complex includes a conference hall, an indoor sports arena, a modern high-speed treadmill where horses can gallop up to 30 m.p.h., an underwater equine therapy treadmill, an equine MRI system that is the most powerful of any in veterinary hospitals in the world, and custom-designed lameness, surgery and reproductive evaluation areas.
University officials state that the new facility will become an important medical and community resource for thousands of horse lovers.
Nutrena® also served as premier sponsor for the grand opening festivities of the University of Minnesota’s Leatherdale Equine Center in Minneapolis this past Monday, Oct. 15.
“The Equine Center is destined to be the pre-eminent facility of its kind, providing the most advanced diagnostic capabilities, research focused on the causes of performance problems in equine athletes, and in-depth education,” said Dr. Stephanie Valberg, director of the Equine Center.
