Cleveland, Ohio – To help students at St. Mary’s School learn about wellness and nutrition, Cargill has donated $2,500 to continue the “Health on Wheels Program,” offered by Healthspace Cleveland.
Cargill’s funds will be used to educate students in the “Health on Wheels Program” and to provide additional staff training at St. Mary’s, a kindergarten to 8th grade school that educates more than 150 students. The grade-specific program will help children learn how to take proper care of their bodies. For example, children in kindergarten through first grade will receive an hour-long lesson on nutrition, basic hygiene and exercise, while second- and third-graders will spend their time learning about their bodies, the five senses and how to deal with bullies.
“From Cargill’s generous support, students will have the opportunity to learn how to lead a healthier lifestyle,” said Father Leo DeChant, principal of St. Mary’s School. “This grant is another way Cargill is helping to support our community’s most valuable resource – our children.”
“Cargill is proud to work with St. Mary’s School to enhance learning about nutrition and wellness,” said Kitty Yonkof, payroll technician, Cargill. “This contribution represents another way that Cargill strives to nourish people and possibilities in the community”
