Cargill's great tasting prototypes at SupplySide West 2009 creatively blend innovative ingredients that deliver distinct health benefits

MINNEAPOLIS - Cargill will premiere some of its most creative prototypes at this year's SupplySide West, blending its proprietary ingredients into delicious functional products that have multiple health benefits. This year's prototypes epitomize Cargill's expertise in working with food and beverage manufacturers to develop and market innovative products to meet burgeoning consumer demand. SupplySide West takes place Nov. 11-13 in Las Vegas.

Cargill's booth 22050 will feature prototypes made with health-promoting ingredients that address joint and bone health, as well as digestive health, with a special focus on specialty sweeteners designed to support a healthy lifestyle.

This year's prototypes will include Truvia™ rebiana, Regenasure® glucosamine hydrochloride Oliggo-Fiber® inulin, Zerose™ erythritol and Xtend® sucromalt.

Items available for sampling at SupplySide West will include:

  • A sports beverage made with Xtend® sucromalt, a natural, slowly digestible sugar alternative; Truvia™ rebiana, a natural zero-calorie sweetener made from the best part of the stevia leaf; and Regenasure® glucosamine hydrochloride, a vegetarian-sourced product recognized for its reliability and security for use in foods.
  • Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal bars made with Oliggo-Fiber® inulin to support digestive health, help enhance calcium absorption and enable calorie reduction in many foods; as well as Xtend® sucromalt.
  • Sugar-free chocolate made with Zerose™ erythritol, a versatile sugar-free alternative with the taste, mouth feel and sweetness similar to sucrose; Truvia™ rebiana, Oliggo-Fiber® inulin.
  • Refreshing Dairy Smoothies fortified with Regenasure® glucosamine hydrochloride, a vegetarian-sourced product for joints.
