Develop supply chain requirements basis customer segmentation analysis. Then identify a set of actions around distribution, customer service, planning activities, logistics, and other supply chain assets that are configured to each segment.

Case Study #2: Customer Collaboration

Project Objectives:

Work collaboratively with a Cargill customer and six business units to identify and participate in supply chain optimization enhancements.

Channel: Food Service

Supply Chain Solutions Role:

  • Provide the methodology, thought leadership and resources to lead the discovery of inefficiencies and develop implementation plans to correct them
  • Develop value sharing methodology between Customer and Cargill
  • Determine opportunities and benefits of vendor managed inventory (VMI)
  • Determine optimal inbound logistics consolidation strategy across Cargill products and non-Cargill products
  • Determine supply chain capital projects required to support process changes

Results:

  • Savings in the areas of logistics, freight, inventory and associated planning
  • Deep relationship building with a cross functional team
