Pakistan
Cargill's presence in Pakistan began in 1984 in the seeds division and in 1989 expanded to include Kinnow Juice. The seed and juice businesses were discontinued in 1998 and 2000. In 1998, Cargill started C&F selling of palm oil to Ghee & Cooking Oil Units located in the country. Other Cargill products such as fertilizer, milk replacers, sugar, oilseeds and wheat are sold through locally appointed agents.
Cargill Pakistan is currently active in trading operations in the country. Major business operations revolve around purchase of palm oil from Malaysia and Indonesia and its local sale through an Ex- tank distribution network involving strategic arrangements with oil terminals and surveyors. These trading operations have been successfully managed since 2000. We are considered one of the largest palm oil trading companies in Pakistan. This setup has also allowed Cargill to explore and penetrate into other trade opportunities like sugar and ferrous. Cargill Pakistan is also involved in Cotton Export where lint cotton is purchased from local ginners and is exported to customers in various countries.
