Cargill has been active in the United Kingdom since 1955 and employs approximately 3,000 people in 17 locations: London (two locations), Cobham, (two locations) Hereford, Hull, Liverpool (four locations), Manchester, Runcorn, Shobdan, York, Witham St Hughs, Wolverhampton and Worksop. Cargill also has an agriculture joint venture with Allied Grain, under the name Frontier Agriculture.

Cargill Investments in the United Kingdom
- 2008 – Announced the expansion of its poultry operations in the UK with the acquisition of Freeman’s of Newent Ltd. (Freeman’s), a primary chicken processing business in Gloucestershire.
- 2007 – Started processing wheat at its new starches and sweeteners facility in Manchester
- 2005 - Announced its intention to invest in a state-of-the-art wheat plant at its Cerestar Manchester facility.
- 2005 – Invested in a state-of-the-art wheat plant at the Cerestar Manchester facility.
- 2005 – Began trading electricity and gas from our new office in King Street, London.
- 2005 – Cargill PLC and ABF Holdings combined our existing UK operations trading under the name of Frontier.
- 2004 – Acquired The Nestlé Group's primary cocoa processing facility in York.
- 2004 – Acquired leading flavor house — The Duckworth Group.
- 2003 – Acquired OCG Cacao's industrial chocolate business, including its plant in Worksop.
- 2002 – Acquired Cerestar — a leading provider of starch and starch derivatives, and the largest acquisition in Cargill's history. This acquisition includes Cerestar's sweeteners plant in Manchester.
