Cargill has been active in Ukraine since 1991 with the establishment of a Corn Research Institute in Dnipropetrovsk. It has more than 800 employees in the country, with its main office in Kiev.Cargill has activities in the following areas in Ukraine:

2005 - Cargill acquired its second sunflower seed processing and extraction plant in Kakhovka, in the Kherson region.
2005 - Cargill acquired two additional grain elevators – the Konstantinovka silo in the Donetsk region and the Balakleya silo in the Kharkiv region.
2004 - Cargill merged its fertiliser business with IMC Global to become Mosaic.
2004 - Cargill acquired the fourth grain elevator, the Khaschevatoye silo, in the Kirovograd region.
2003 - Cargill acquired a grain elevator, Steppe silo, in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
2002 - Cargill’s fertiliser blending facilities were expanded with a $200,000 investment in the facility and its railroad systems.
2000 - Cargill opened its Industrial Complex in Donetsk.
2000 - Cargill bought a grain elevator, the Kutsovka silo, in the Kirovograd region – Kutsovka silo.
1999 - Cargill bought its first grain elevator in Ukraine, the Korystovka silo, in Kirovograd region.
1998 - Cargill began the construction of a sunflower seed processing and extraction plant in Donetsk .
1998 - The hybrid seed conditioning plant in Starobeshevo was sold as a part of the international seed business sale to Monsanto.
1995 - Cargill expanded its hybrid seed production business in Ukraine and built a modern hybrid seed conditioning plant in Starobeshevo area near Donetsk.
1993 - Cargill set up Cargill AT, its first wholly owned Ukrainian subsidiary located in Kiev. From here the company started to trade in grain, oilseeds, steel, sugar, fruit juice concentrate and cocoa.
1991 - Cargill began its activities in Ukraine with the establishment of a Joint Venture with Selection Research Institute in Dnipropetrovsk. The JV developed grain hybrids and varieties adapted to Ukrainian climatic conditions.
