Cargill marks 4th consecutive year at CISCE
Deepening local roots in China to accelerate supply chain innovation and growth
June 22, 2026, Beijing – Today, the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) officially opened in Beijing. Cargill, a global leader in agriculture and food, is participating for the fourth consecutive year in the Green Agriculture Chain exhibition zone, showcasing its latest supply chain innovations, local investment and industry collaboration from farm to table. The display highlights its long-term dedication in the Chinese market and its efforts to enhance supply chain resilience alongside industry partners.
“Over four years of participating at CISCE, we have deeply felt that it has become a vital bridge connecting China and the world, promoting innovation and collaboration. It is also a unique platform that enables upstream and downstream players in the agri-food value chain to share opportunities and co-create value,” said Penne Kehl, Asia Pacific Group President of Cargill Agriculture and Trading. “Cargill is both a connector of global resources and a participant in local development. We will continue to leverage CISCE as a platform, drawing on our global expertise and local insights to deepen collaborative innovation with industry partners, to support the upgrading of China's agri-food sector”.
During the exhibition, under the initiative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Cargill joined several participating companies in launching the Joint Initiative on Strengthening the Security and Resilience of Global Agricultural and Food Supply Chains. The initiative builds broad consensus around strengthening international cooperation, deepening full-chain collaboration, advancing green transformation of supply chains, and embracing technological innovation, while jointly driving global agri-food supply chains toward greater security, resilience, and sustainability.
This year, Cargill’s booth is themed “The Tree on the Chain”, creating an immersive space that integrates display, interaction, and experience. It vividly presents Cargill’s innovations across diverse sectors, including agricultural supply chains, animal nutrition and health, food and beverage consumption, and beauty care. Inspired by the growth of a tree, the exhibition design uses deep roots, rising trunks, and extending branches to illustrate how Cargill is firmly rooted in the Chinese market, connecting global resources with local markets, and collaborating with upstream and downstream partners to build an efficient, coordinated, and mutually beneficial supply chain ecosystem.
Meanwhile, an overhead transparent screen combined with dynamic lighting effects depicts scenes such as farmland, ports, processing plants, and consumer endpoints. This allows visitors to visually understand the journey of agricultural products from farm to table, as well as Cargill’s operational practices at each stage of the supply chain. In addition, Cargill is showcasing its latest investment in the Yangtze River Delta through a combination of a physical model and digital displays. The on-site model showcases project construction and overall planning, making the practical implementation of supply chain collaboration and development more tangible through a blend of static and dynamic elements.
For many years, Cargill has actively served as a bridge connecting farmers and markets. Through its integrated operations spanning sourcing, storage, trading, processing and distribution of bulk agricultural commodities, the company efficiently links farm products to local markets and builds a complete farm-to-table supply chain. Cargill’s Nantong Grain and Oilseeds Facility relocation project, highlighted at this year’s CISCE, is a vivid example of Cargill’s deep dedication in the Chinese market and its continued investment in strengthening local supply chains.
With a planned total investment of about USD 500 million, the relocation project has progressed smoothly since construction officially broke ground on September 12, 2025. As a key part of Cargill’s oilseeds & oil processing business in China, the new facility will further strengthen Cargill’s supply chain capabilities across the Yangtze River Delta region. Serving this major consumer market of more than 440 million residents, the new facility will build on existing strengths while upgrading production capacity and service capabilities. It will also continue to strengthen its collaboration with Cargill’s four other oilseeds & oil processing facilities in China, improving resource allocation across origins and markets, strengthening supply chain resilience, and supporting the stable operation of food and agriculture value chains throughout the Yangtze River Delta region and beyond. Meanwhile, Cargill continues to advance its local investment strategy across the food sector. The expansion of Cargill’s Beijing facility, launched on January 28, 2026, is progressing steadily and is expected to commence operations in the first half of 2027. Once completed, the project will further enhance Cargill’s comprehensive capabilities in delivering functional systems solutions across China and the Asia-Pacific region, creating new momentum for synergies across regional food industry value chains.
“China is not only one of Cargill’s most important markets, but also a key force driving innovation and upgrading of the global agri-food supply chain. Our four years at CISCE have witnessed our deep connection with the Chinese market and strengthened our confidence in China’s long-term economic prospects and the opportunities for agri-food industry upgrading,” said Lily Guan, President of Cargill China. “Today, global agri-food supply chains are undergoing rapid transformation, making industrial collaboration, innovation-driven growth, and open cooperation more important than ever. Cargill will continue to fulfill its dedication of ‘In China, for China,’ leveraging its global resources and local insights to deepen investment and innovation partnerships, and to jointly build a more efficient, sustainable, and resilient agri-food supply chain.
Just like the “Tree on the Chain” growing at the center of Cargill’s booth, every investment rooted in the local market and every act of supply chain collaboration injects new momentum into the development of China’s agri-food industry. By connecting farmers, resources, and markets, Cargill continues to expand the depth and breadth of cooperation across the value chain, driving ongoing optimization and upgrading of the agri-food supply chain system.
