The China Children and Teenager's Fund

The China Children and Teenager’s Fund (CCTF) improves the education and welfare of China’s children. In 2008, Cargill launched a $1 million project with CCTF called the “Cargill Cares Rural Education Program.”

In partnership with the China Women’s Federation and local government, CCTF and Cargill officially completed the four-year program in September 2011 by rebuilding or renovating classrooms in 21 elementary schools, and establishing a “Cargill Cares Library” in 20 elementary schools. It is estimated that more than 14,000 students benefit from this program every year. In October 2011, 40 teachers also participated in a follow-up reading practice course.

The success of this program is built on Cargill’s integrated and long-term approach to provide rural youth with a better education environment and resources. Cargill’s total four-year investment with CCTF amounts to $1.57 million.
