Safety and Dosage Information

Is EpiCor® postbiotic safe?

Yes, EpiCor® was determined to be GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) (GRN 928). 

What is the efficacious dose of EpiCor® postbiotic?

All human clinical trials have been conducted with a daily dose of 500mg of EpiCor®.

What is the safe, maximum dose of EpiCor® postbiotic for adults and children? 

In the US there are different dose and age recommendations for dietary supplements because of the differences in the US regulatory requirements for supplements. For dietary supplements, a daily consumption of 3,000 mg of EpiCor® postbiotic is acceptable for adults and 500 mg of EpiCor® postbiotic for children over the age of four years old per levels presented in the EpiCor® New Dietary Ingredient Notification NDIN 689.

Is EpiCor® stable?

Yes, EpiCor® is an extremely stable ingredient. Due to the fact that EpiCor® is an inanimate ingredient, EpiCor® offers increased stability and consistency as compared to more familiar immune ingredients such as probiotics. Based on this stability EpiCor® can be easily formulated into Dietary Supplements, Adult Nutrition, or even Pet Food, Treats, and Supplements.

What is the required inclusion rate?

Clinically studied at a daily dose of 500mg, we recommend formulating at this dose to optimize your product offering.

What is the shelf life of EpiCor®?

EpiCor® offers a three-year shelf life from date of manufacture.

What dietary supplement formats can EpiCor® be formulated into?

EpiCor® has been formulated into capsules, gummies, lozenges, tablets, or used as a powder.

Can EpiCor® be combined with other ingredients in finished formulations?

Absolutely! EpiCor® is perfectly suited for formulation with other ingredients as confirmed in the NDI Notification and GRAS determination.
