Nothing beats the taste of a freshly grilled burger or a mouthwatering steak. As one of the leading beef companies in North America, we bring beef products from the rancher who raises the cattle right to the consumer’s plate. Along the way, we treat animals with respect and care, using animal welfare techniques we pioneered with the world’s foremost experts.
Our beef operations include a cattle feeding business, beef processing facilities and case-ready packaging capabilities. With our locations in both the U.S. and Canada, we are the second-largest fed beef processor in North America and the largest supplier of ground beef in the world.
We help retailers fill their meat aisles with fresh, high-quality beef. We work with foodservice operators to craft delectable menu items consumers want. And we partner with consumer goods manufacturers to develop new products with innovative tastes and flavors. In all cases, we use our world-class food safety capabilities to make sure food is safe for consumers.

When you walk in the door of the Cargill Innovation Center in Wichita, Kansas, you’re entering one of the world’s most advanced food innovation facilities. The center features cutting-edge research, development and laboratory capabilities, as well as a pilot plant and retail presentation area, all to help customers create successful, profitable products.
Of course, the key to success is great taste. Our test kitchen at the center is run by a culinary team of protein experts, each of whom has a deep knowledge of cooking in manufacturing, restaurant and home environments. They work on site with customers to develop complete menu items that fit the taste profiles consumers are after, integrating other Cargill offerings for a complete package.

We make food safety a top priority across all of our businesses. Long an industry leader, we continue to invest in the latest technology to keep advancing our testing and certification programs. Because everyone should be sure that their food is safe.
Animal welfare is a moral obligation for our businesses. We have worked over the years with leading animal welfare experts like Dr. Temple Grandin to pioneer new techniques for handling animals humanely and protecting their well-being. We aim to ensure that the animals in our care are raised in an environment that satisfies their physical, emotional and nutritional health requirements at the highest standard.
