Sustainability - Animal Feed & Nutrition
The core of our business is delivering solutions more efficiently, both today and tomorrow.
A history of action
How do we nourish the world while protecting the planet? Sustainability is more important than ever to consumers, to communities, to all of us. Throughout our 150-year history, we have always sought to make your operations more efficient, in order to help you grow your business and conserve resources for future generations. Today, we bring our broad network and deep expertise to the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of sustainability as we continue to advance this noble goal.
All of our efforts support Cargill’s large-scale focus on sustainability. As with the company’s priority areas of land use, water resources, climate change and farmer livelihoods, we are taking action in the places where we can make the biggest positive difference.
What is sustainable animal nutrition?
As the global leader in animal nutrition, we play a vital role in the food system. Making sure that system works both today and tomorrow will require innovative thinking across a number of dimensions. These include the interrelated environmental, economic and social aspects of agriculture. Because these factors will at times require tradeoffs, we think it’s important to have open dialogue that aims to find the most sustainable solutions.
We also strive to increase transparency in the supply chain. We want consumers to better understand how feed is produced and how animals are raised and treated, giving them confidence to choose the products they want. Whether it’s the way we source agricultural materials, innovate new products and technologies, or ensure animal wellbeing and human health, we believe the work we do is helping create a brighter future.
