Sustainably sourced Corn and Wheat
Consumers are increasingly conscious about what they buy, wanting to know exactly where their purchases come from and how they are made. With these insights, the well-informed consumer is more likely to choose products that support sustainability throughout the supply chain.
At Cargill, we are working to nourish the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way and drive positive change across our supply chains. This includes creating a more sustainable crop supply for our ingredients and applications.
We source certified corn and wheat, benchmarked at Silver level according to Farm Sustainability Assessment*. This industry-recognized benchmark system supports good agricultural practices in key sustainability areas, including:
To reach the Farm Sustainability Assessment Silver benchmark, farmers are independently audited based on standards that go further than European regulations and allow for credible sustainability claims.
Cargill, Starches, Sweeteners & Texturizers in Action for Sustainable Sourcing
Cargill Starches, Sweeteners & Texturizers Europe has set sustainability goals to achieve sustainable sourcing. We commit to source 65% of our raw materials** sustainably by 2025. Cargill Starches, Sweeteners & Texturizers Europe is partnering with farmers to source third party verified raw materials across our product lines - red seaweed, soy, wheat, corn, maize, stevia and citrus fruits.
In addition to sourcing benchmarked at silver level according to FSA, we are also promoting the transition to regenerative agriculture across Europe to mitigate climate change through carbon sequestration. By implementing regenerative agricultural techniques, farmers are able to increase productivity while also reducing chemical inputs and soil tillage.
