Plant protein for Health & Sports nutrition

As consumers prioritize health and wellbeing, proteins are taking center stage. These important nutrients support active lifestyles and healthy aging, as the amino acids from proteins form the building blocks for new tissues and the repair of body cells. They even act as a small fuel source for exercising muscles.

Those nutritional benefits allow protein-enriched foods & beverages to fill a myriad of roles. They may be used to support weight management, promote lean muscle growth, speed recovery after exercise or medical conditions, or simply boost protein intake for those who follow active lifestyles.

However, not just any protein will do. Cargill’s plant proteins can help brands meet active consumers’ and athletes’ desires for plant-based protein nutrition and are available in different grades and botanical sources.

The protein range for health & sports nutrition

Cargill’s pea protein isolates can be applied for high protein enrichment in protein/sport beverages, powders or bars.

Cargill’s wheat protein, particularly wheat gluten, is suited for usage in bars1. Our hydrolyzed wheat protein is suited for bars when lower viscosity or reduced chewiness is needed. By playing on the type of protein used and their ratio, it is possible to create different textures and bar structures. The latter can also be advantageously used in beverages as a complement to legume proteins to obtain a better amino acid balance, helping also to develop more affordable products.
