People
Our business is powered by people – from the farmers who produce key ingredients for our feed to the employees who support our operations. A safe, supportive work environment helps our workforce to deliver the quality goods and services our customers expect, while also helping us advance the company’s sustainability goals. “Aquaculture, including shrimp farming, plays a vital role in feeding a growing global population and supporting livelihoods across communities. Across the Americas, we are working closely with farmers to deliver nutrition solutions that improve productivity, strengthen animal health, and support more sustainable practices. By combining innovation with strong partnerships, we are helping farmers build more resilient businesses while contributing to a more sustainable future for aquaculture.”

People highlights from 2025
Empowering women entrepreneurs in Ecuador
As part of our support for Ecuadorian aquaculture, we have partnered for the past five years with the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) to cultivate our Women Entrepreneurs in the Shrimp Sector program. This program is open to both shrimp farmers and others working in the broader aquaculture industry. The curriculum includes comprehensive training in topics such as industry economics, sustainability, financial management, business administration, and farm productivity. Each year, UTPL and Cargill work together to improve the training with the latest best practices relevant to Ecuador’s shrimp industry.
Several cohorts participated in the program from 2023 to 2025 – culminating in a graduation event in March 2026 where approximately 170 participants from these cohorts received a certification for their training. Going forward, we will continue to work as an agent of change and ally as we expand the program to strengthen Ecuador’s shrimp value chain.
“This program has allowed me to complement my professional experience with the knowledge gained throughout the course. It has been a key support, as it has provided us with a broader understanding of the business and enabled us to strengthen our network within the industry.”

Caring for our communities
Strong communities play an important role in a resilient food system. That’s why we invest in the places where we operate and source, working alongside employees and local partners to support community needs.
- In Chile, our business donated food, equipment, furniture and other items to local nursing homes in Coronel, Puerto Montt, and Colaco. And over the Christmas holiday season, employees exchanged letters with children at Aguantao School in Calbuco, bringing them presents based on their holiday wishes.
- In Norway, Cargill was a proud partner of the 10th annual Girls and Technology event in Florø to encourage young women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Several of the attendees also toured our Florø factory to see technology for the feed industry up close.
- In Thailand, our aqua nutrition business celebrated 10 years of community involvement through the broader Cargill Cares Council for Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health, which has benefited tens of thousands of people across nearly 300 projects focused on water filtration, school facilities, scholarships, and flooding relief.
