Childhood Nutrition

The Cargill Foundation supports organizations that improve access to nutritious, culturally preferred foods and increase healthy food consumption and behaviors to support learning for children ages 2-12.    

Key 2025 dates for education grant applications in the area Childhood Nutrition are:

  • April 21: Applications sent to nonprofits (by invitation only)
  • May 9: Applications due
  • Late-June: Grant award notifications

Childhood Nutrition organizations of interest:

  • Community organizations serving low-income, and BIPOC populations with high proportion of youth ages 2-12.
  • Organizations that provide hands-on nutrition education programs and/or curriculum for children.
  • Organizations that develop programs for procurement and/or preparation of low-cost nutritious foods for children (i.e. gardens, cooking classes, etc.)
  • Organizations that provide training and development programming for staff and educators to improve nutrition education for children and families.
