And more and more people are becoming aware that ingredients that make up those products can have an impact on the human and environmental health. Soaps and detergents

To meet the specific needs of our customers, Cargill develops label-enhancing, non-toxic thickeners and viscosifiers that are derived from renewable resources. In addition, our products can help manufacturers achieve the ideal rheology for thicker, safer, and more stable products that can be less wasteful than powders or non-thickened liquids.

Vegetable oils are used in the production of surfactants (surface-active agents) that provide the cleaning and other properties of products such as household detergents, soft soaps, cleaners and personal care rinse-off products. For more information, see soaps and surfactants.

Ignition products

Vegetable-based oils, fatty acids and esters provide the fuel and binder function for wood-based fire-lighters, BBQ lighters and fire logs. As well as their suitably high calorific value, they provide a safe and fully sustainable bio-based solution with consumer appeal and excellent performance. We also offer products for liquid BBQ lighters and lamp oils; safe and cost-effective base fluids for blending with lighter oils to achieve the optimum cost/performance balance.

Our vegetable oils environmentally friendly options for anti-dust formulations. In addition, our ethanol and technical alcohol products can be used as an ingredient for screenwash, antifreeze and cleaning applications.
