Versatile bulk sweetener, improving flexibility and hardness

Contact Us

C☆Mannidex® mannitol – a polyol derived from the hydrogenation of sugars - from corn or wheat starch – is often used as an anti-caking agent or a dusting powder.

Its clean, cool and refreshing taste enhances sensory enjoyment, and its physical properties protect against moisture absorption, stabilize products, and reduce stickiness in candy.

Sugar Reduction
C✩Mannidex™ has an energy value of just 2.4 kcal/g, compared to full-calorie sweeteners’ 4 kcal/g.

Versatile Ingredient
Very low solubility, promotes more graining, flexibility and short textures.

Tooth Friendly
C✩Mannidex™ is non-cariogenic and does not contribute to tooth decay.

Applications

Production process

Mannitol occurs naturally in honey-dew, algae, mushrooms and olives. Its extraction is however not a viable production method.

Mannitol is obtained by the hydrogenation of sugars - from corn or wheat starch.

Cargill offers mannitol powder and granules in fine particle sizes. As with all Cargill ingredients, the reliable quality and supply of C✩Mannidex™ is assured by Cargill’s extensive supply chain.

EU Labelling & Legislation

We recommend including mannitol (E421) in the ingredient declaration on the labels of finished products.

Our Offer

Cargill offers an extensive range of high-quality polyols for food, pharma and feed applications. Our offer consists of different formats and particle sizes.
