Toothpastes
Cargill’s nature-derived ingredients are used frequently in toothpastes thanks to their wide range of functional properties:
Humectant | Sorbidex™ sorbitol syrups are body-enhancing, non-crystallizing humectants. |
Texturizers & Binders | Satiaxane™ xanthan gum, Satiagum™UTC and Satiagel™UTH carrageenan, and Satialgine™US algin make excellent texturizers: they improve the rheological profile of the paste, ensuring perfect adhesion when applied on the toothbrush. They also provide a glossy effect and prevent the paste’s separation during storage. |
Non-cariogenic | Sorbidex™ sorbitol has non-cariogenic properties. |
Cariostatic | Zerose™ erythritol has been proven, in numerous trials, to be a cariostatic agent. |
Flavor masking | Zerose™ erythritol is an effective flavor building ingredient as it can mask off-flavors and enhance the overall taste of the toothpaste. |
Flavor & Mouth feel | Zerose™ erythritol provides an intense cooling effect in the mouth and has a clean, sweet taste. Sorbidex™ sorbitol syrups can also provide a (less intense) cooling sensation. |
Compatibility | Sorbidex™ sorbitol syrups are highly compatible with many actives and ingredients present in toothpastes. |
Clear gel | Sorbidex™ sorbitol syrups are ideal to create translucent or transparent gel pastes but can also be used in the formulation of classic white pastes. |
