Certification
Certification for palm oil products, plantations and smallholders
We certify our own oil palm plantations under global and national sustainability standards for distinguishing sustainable palm oil products and we encourage others to do the same. Broader adoption of these standards – and market demand for certified products – is necessary to move the palm oil supply chain toward greater sustainability. Cargill offers a wide range of products that meet the following standards:
- Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) – Cargill endorses RSPO as the primary global sustainability standard for palm oil products, and we advance certification projects to increase sustainability across our plantations, adjacent smallholder land, and independent mills and smallholders.
- International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) – With ISCC certification, Cargill is able to provide palm oil intended for energy applications to customers who are working towards compliance with the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED).
- Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) – Cargill holds ISPO certification for our own plantations.
Most of Cargill’s plantations and mills are RSPO certified. Many of our smallholder suppliers also are RSPO certified and we are working with the remaining smallholders in our supply chain to help them achieve certification. View certification list for Cargill plantations and smallholders.
