Cargill’s NDPE IRF profiles
In order to achieve long-term transformation of the palm oil supply chain, it is necessary to effectively monitor the no deforestation, no development on peat, and no exploitation (NDPE) compliance of the suppliers we source from and to report on the progress. For years the palm oil industry worked to develop a common approach and language, which is embodied in the NDPE Implementation Reporting Framework (NDPE IRF), created in 2018 by the Palm Oil Collaboration Group (POCG). Cargill and PepsiCo have been leading the development of the NDPE IRF as the co-convenors of the group, with Proforest being responsible for the implementation of the tool.
The NDPE IRF is a tool many palm oil companies use as a consistent way to monitor NDPE compliance in the supply chain, to report on progress, and to identify the areas where collaborative action is needed to drive transformation. Learn more about the NDPE IRF via this video that sets out how downstream, midstream and upstream companies are using the NDPE IRF as a universal, shared language to understand what is required to deliver on NDPE commitments, monitor progress, identify action and drive improvement.
