The Offer
Functional label-friendly starches
SimPure® starches help address consumers’ desire for simple ingredients and familiar labels, at the same time giving manufacturers greater process tolerance, shelf life and storage stability.
Native Starches
Derived from sources such as maize, waxy maize, high amylose maize, wheat and tapioca; native starches are generally used for the purpose of food texturizing and thickening.
Modified Starches
Modified starches are derived from different botanical sources such maize, waxy maize, tapioca and help providing various functionalities, from thickening to gelling, bulking and emulsifying. At the same time, enable wide range of texture and improved performance. Modified starches can also provide tailored solutions for specific applications, processes and storage requirements.
Dried Glucose and Maltodextrin
Dried glucose syrup and Maltodextrin are obtained by enzymatic conversion of starch. They help improving texture and flavor, thickening foods and binding the ingredients together while extending the shelf life.
Regulatory status
In the EU, native starches, dextrins and thinned starches modified by acid, alkali or enzymatic treatment are labeled as “starch” food ingredients. Starches modified through oxidation, esterification and etherification are regulated under Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on food additives, Annex II.
