Joanne Knight

Chief Financial Officer

Joanne Knight portrait image As Chief Financial Officer, Joanne Knight provides strategic leadership for Cargill’s global finance and business services organizations and helps drive the company’s growth and financial performance. In addition, she oversees the company’s Trade and Capital Markets business.

Joanne joined Cargill in July 2019 as the leader of the company’s Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team. In May 2020, she became Vice President, Finance for Cargill’s Agricultural Supply Chain enterprise, where she built a strong track record of leadership and operating results.

She joined Cargill’s Executive Team as Chief Financial Officer in Feb. 2023. In her role as CFO, Joanne has helped shape the company’s long-term growth strategy, evolved the Finance function’s role as a strategic driver of business performance, and advanced Finance processes and controls across the organization.

Prior to joining Cargill, Joanne spent ten years at General Mills in a variety of finance, marketing, and general management roles across both retail packaged goods and foodservice businesses. Earlier in her career, she worked in investment banking at Wachovia.

Joanne serves as vice chair of the board of directors for Teach For America Twin Cities. 
She earned a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Virginia.
