Rishi Varma is Cargill’s Executive Vice President, Chief Legal, Compliance and Corporate Affairs Officer and Corporate Secretary.
As a member of Cargill’s Executive Team, Rishi serves as a trusted advisor on enterprise priorities, governance and responsible growth. He oversees Cargill’s global legal, compliance and corporate affairs functions, including corporate governance, ethics and compliance, security, government relations, commercial law, intellectual property, labor and employment, global communications, sustainability, corporate responsibility and shareholder relations.
Rishi joined Cargill in January 2024. In January 2025, he was appointed Chair of Cargill Asia Pacific, where he continues to lead implementation of the company’s Asia strategy for profitable growth.
Before joining Cargill, Rishi served as General Counsel at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Earlier in his career, he served as general counsel for TPC Group, Inc. and Trico Marine Services, Inc., and held legal, investor relations and corporate roles at EGL, Inc. and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, LP.
Rishi serves on several nonprofit and advisory boards, including the Tahirih Justice Center, Texas Asia Society, Memorial Hermann Hospital System Board, Equal Justice Works Board of Directors, Equal Justice Works Board of Counselors and Georgetown University Law Center Advisory Board.
He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.
