Cargill’s charitable giving exceeded $57.9 million across 57 countries in fiscal 2015
During Cargill’s 150 years, we have helped build vibrant, stable communities in the areas where we do business. We promote the social well-being of the communities we serve through long-term solutions to reduce hunger, improve education and protect the environment. With financial support, the expertise of our businesses, efforts of our employees and collaboration with partners, we are making positive, measureable improvements where we live and work.
Our employees, businesses and community partners contribute to provide a meaningful impact in our communities.
Cargill and our employees contribute in a number of ways:
- Corporate giving
Cargill provides corporate support to select regional, national and global nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) that serve multiple communities in which we have a business presence. Our giving is directed within our focus areas of food security and nutrition, education and environmental stewardship.
- Local community giving
Cargill businesses, facilities and employee-led Cargill Cares Councils provide support for civic and charitable organizations and schools in their local communities.
- Headquarters giving
The Cargill Foundation supports rigorous education programs for K-12 in our headquarters communities of Minneapolis and its northern and western suburbs, and early childhood nutrition education programs for pre-K-grade 6 (ages 2-12).
- Other ways we give
Cargill and its employees and retirees give in a variety of ways including personal financial contributions and gifts to higher education.
