Nutrena College, an interactive learning center and training program for rural farmers based in Poland, is an example of Cargill’s commitment to rural development, as well as a commercial opportunity to widen the distribution market for Nutrena, Cargill’s branded animal feed.

Developed by Cargill in 2007 in partnership with the Center for Business Promotion and Entrepreneurship (OPiWPR), the program aims to help rural farmers gain the competencies and skills required to run small feed distribution businesses and supplement their farming incomes. Cargill has funded the college since inception and has provided, on average, $100,000 a year to the program.

As of July 2011, nearly 2,600 participants have been trained at 114 Nutrena College sessions.
