B-Tough™ A1

B-Tough™ A1 agent is part of our range of epoxy functional toughening agents that bring impact resistance to structural resins and adhesives without impacting the hardness of the formulation. They enhance durability by absorbing mechanical stress and ageing or thermal shock. B-Tough™ A1 agent is a reactive toughening ingredient that brings excellent stability and is recommended for use in liquid type epoxy resins.

Three grades of B-Tough™ A1 agents are available and differ in polarity (lowest/low/medium), as they should be compatible enough to react in the curing reaction whilst becoming phase separated during cure. We suggest evaluating at least two grades in parallel. Depending on the toughening requirements, the dosage of the elastomeric phase can be anywhere between 5 and 25%. A ladder study is recommended to find the optimal performance.
