Chain Oils

We are a major supplier of synthetic lubricant base fluids for use in many chain oil applications including power transmission, control chains, lifting, conveyor or transportation systems and high temperature processing.

We recommend the use of our high-performance range of esters and polyalkylene glycol (PAG) products, branded under the Priolube™ and Emkarox™ trade names.

Food grade chain oils

Food grade lubricants are used during the processing, production, manufacture and packaging of food products. Lubricating equipment used in the food processing industry presents a unique challenge. The lubricant must first provide the basic desired technical performance, but secondly must comply with acceptable industry standards on the use of approved base fluids and additives.

Additives for incidental food contact lubricants

Our Priolube™ food grade chain oil esters are highly versatile and can provide special performance benefits including for the formulation of lubricants in the viscosity range 68 - 220 mm2/s. They also leave low deposits upon decomposition and have low volatility below 230°C. Our synthetic esters help to deliver improved productivity through reduced downtime for equipment/repairs, lower maintenance costs and prolonged equipment lifetime.

We also have a wide range of Emkarox™ water soluble and insoluble polyalkylene glycols (PAGs), which are particularly suited as carriers for solid lubricants in high temperature applications such as ovens. At elevated temperatures (>600°C), PAGs will evaporate cleanly, without the formation of harmful residues.

High temperature chain oils

We are a leading supplier of synthetic base oils for use in many high temperature chain oil applications. Correct lubrication of chains is essential to prevent excessive wear which can lead to chain lengthening and erratic travel, increased power consumption and a reduction in lubricant adhesion to the chains. It is also important to avoid residue build-up which can lead to maintenance problems in terms of time and cost.

Tailoring your lubricant to its specific operating environment is crucial. Compared to conventional mineral oils, trimellitates and polyalphaolefin (PAO) base stocks, our Priolube™ esters can provide special performance characteristics including the formulation of lubricants in the viscosity range 68 - 320 mm2/s and low deposit formation upon decomposition to prevent build up on chains. Our Emkarox™ VG/W polyalkylene glycols (PAG) grades also volatilize at high temperatures to leave no sticky residues. They are excellent base oils for solid lubricant dispersions that experience temperatures above 600°C.
