Dielectric and Cooling

When it comes to cooling and insulating your industrial electronics, whether that is a server room or a transformer, Cargill has bio-based solutions from renewable raw materials to help extend equipment life without sacrificing performance when compared to mineral oil-based dielectric cooling fluids.

Specifically designed for transformers, Cargill's FR3™ and FR3r™ natural esters are bio-based solutions that help increase reliability and extend asset lifetime, with a carbon neutral, 100% biodegradable fluid that's more sustainable compared to mineral oil alternatives. Made of bio-based ingredients, this >95% vegetable oil fluid has been tested and proven in the over 3 million transformers around the world and is the smart solution for performance, value and peace of mind.

Additionally, FR3™ and FR3r™ natural ester products have an over two times higher flash and fire point compared to mineral oil, increasing the safety of transformers and your operation.

Finally, Cargill provides cooling fluids for EV vehicles. As high-voltage systems are introduced to vehicles, it is critical that fluids in the powertrain do not conduct electricity. This is where Priolube EF™ products are very effective, as they are formulated specifically to solve EV transmission challenges.

Transformer fluid

FR3 and FR3r for the future of dielectric fluids

Cargill's natural ester dielectric options are derived from 100% renewable vegetable oils, with fully validated, field and lab tested results that meet all applicable IEEE and IEC standards.

With millions of installations in distribution and power generation transformers around the globe, Cargill's leading fluids continue to provide real world proof of their increased fire safety and performance compared to mineral oil. It's time to transform your transformer with Cargill.
