What are trimellitate esters?
Trimellitate esters are aromatic group V lubricant base oils produced by esterifying various alcohols with trimellitic acid. Key performance characteristics include high flash point, low volatility, good heat and oxidation stability, excellent low-temperature properties, high film strength, and good hydrolytic stability. Trimellitate esters are valued as base stock components in industrial fluid formulations.
