Optislip™ ER
Optislip™ ER bio-based, unsaturated primary amide additive provides an extremely effective slip effect in polyolefin films, and an effective anti-blocking effect in adhesives. Due to its good oxidative stability and excellent slip performance, Optislip ER is the preferred amide for use in LDPE, LLPDE and PP polymers. Optislip ER also provides anti-blocking properties to Polyamide and EVA hotmelt adhesives, preventing adhesive granulates or films sticking together.
Optislip™ ER amide additive can be dispersed evenly through the polymer in the melt phase. It migrates to the surface of the polymer where it forms a thin lubricating layer. This layer reduces coefficient of friction between surfaces and reduces unwanted adhesion.
Guidelines for Use:
Optislip™ ER internal additive can be incorporated into resin as supplied or via masterbatch / pre-blend. Experience has shown that simple manual mixing prior to processing will normally give an acceptable dispersion, though mechanical means are preferred.
Typical addition levels vary depending on polymer and lubrication required.
Recommended levels are around 500 - 2000ppm in films and 0.2 - 1.0% in molding applications.
