Pripol™ 2033
High-purity amorphous dimer diol
Pripol™ 2033 is a 100% bio based*, fully amorphous, high purity (98%), color stable dimer diol designed for polymer systems that require lasting flexibility, moisture resistance, and chemical durability. Its hydrocarbon backbone is free of ether and ester bonds, contributing to excellent hydrolytic stability and long term performance. The amorphous structure supports consistent behavior without crystallization, making it particularly suitable for demanding applications.
In polyurethane adhesives, Pripol 2033 functions as a chain extender or polyol, delivering outstanding resistance to hydrolysis and chemicals, along with strong water repellency and flexibility. These properties support durable adhesive performance, even under moisture exposure.
When used as a monomer in polyester coatings, Pripol 2033 dimer diol enhances flexibility and impact resistance, helping reduce cracking while providing excellent moisture barrier and chemical resistance protection. Its ability to deform under stress makes it suitable for coatings applied to flexible substrates.
In thermoplastic elastomers and as a modifier for engineering plastics, Pripol 2033 contributes water resistance and long lasting flexibility, supporting stable performance across a wide range of service conditions
