Discover how to save 1000 tons of CO2 using Priplast
Structural adhesives are widely used in automotive lightweight design applications to bond metal, plastic and composite components.
These lighter components are used to replace heavier metal parts, improving the fuel efficiency of the vehicle and, nowadays, to compensate for heavy battery components in electrical vehicles. Priplast™ is used in adhesives to enable a strong bond between these various material substrates.
This case study shows how using 1 ton of Priplast™ bio-based polyester polyol in automotive structural adhesives can save an average of just over 1000 tons of CO2 by making the car lighter so that less fuel is needed over the vehicle lifetime.
