Optislip™ BR
Optislip™ BR vegetable derived, bio-based anti-block additive is effective in a wide range of polymers. It retains excellent anti-blocking properties at high temperatures. Adding this product allows use of less inorganic anti-block, such as talc or silica, and therefore maintains film clarity. It can be used in combination with Optislip™ ER additive to give slip and anti-block, whilst maintaining clarity.
Optislip™ BR additive can be dispersed evenly throughout the polymer in the melt phase. It migrates to the surface of the polymer where it forms a thin lubricating layer. This layer reduces coefficient of friction between surfaces and reduces unwanted adhesion.
Guidelines for Use:
Optislip™ BR internal additive can be incorporated into resin as supplied or via masterbatch / pre-blend. Experience has shown that simple manual mixing prior to processing will normally give an acceptable dispersion, though mechanical means are preferred.
Typical addition levels vary depending on polymer and lubrication required.
Recommended levels are around 500 - 2000ppm in films and 0.2 - 1.0% in molding applications.
